Lost and Found’ (2005)

Attempts were made to re-unite owners with discarded items that were found around the streets of Oxford. As the collection grew, the piece evolved into an investigation, with each ‘exhibit’ catalogued and archived. The artist placed homemade posters and notices around the local area in the hope of reuniting the owners with their discarded objects. Methods included displaying posters on community notice boards and paying for adverts in the local newsagent’s window. This project gave meaning and importance to the ‘forgotten’ - however trivial or disposable the found objects appeared to be.
